Chaos to order

This is something I love. Usually when I get a brief to work or when I plan to do something, it always appears like a big task with chaos, so many steps to do, I wonder how to finish it, what will be the final result. But almost all the time it did turn into something much better than what I imagined. Many refinements happen during the process that might completely change the initial idea. Here is one of my work that turned into something that I never expected.

Yathra magazine

Two months back I bought a magazine called Yathra and I noticed many beautiful images which I planned to sketch after reading. Thank God, I did sketch it without much procrastination after reading.

While sketching I felt like it’s a pretty minimal sketch upon which I should try a digital version. And while doing the sketch I felt like the illustration was related to a Malayalam song called Kalakkatha from the movie Ayyappanum Koshyum. Then it was obvious to me that I should make an album cover for the song.

Anyway, I wanted to brush up on my graphic design skills and this project turned out to be the best opportunity to start with. With much satisfaction, I completed the cover and also showed it to KR for feedback. His reply was also so positive that I posted it without further ado. So as you see this project turned from a random sketch to a meaningful album cover.
